Session Overview: What Is Mental Health First Aid? You are more likely to encounter someone - a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor, or member of the community - in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teachs a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the approprriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care. Anyone can take the 8-hour Mental Health Firt Aid course - first responders, students, teachers, leaders of faith communities, human resources professionals, and caring citizens. Sometimes the best first aid is you. Take the course, save a life, strenghten your community.

Bree Snow: Brianna Snow, M.Ed, LPSC, RA, is the Manager of Community Programming at NAMI Wood County. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, as well as her Master of Education in School Counseling. She has been with NAMI for the last five years. Courtney Rice: Courtney Rice, MSW, LISW, OCPSA is the Manager of Development and Marketing at NAMI Wood County. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and her Master in Social Work degree from University of Toledo. She has worked in a variety of social work roles in the last seven years throughout Wood County.
