    September General Membership Mini Conference

    Date: Thursday, September 16, 2021
Time: 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM

First Speaker: Valerie Grubb, Workforce 2030: Upping Your Game (and your Employees!) to Meet your Organization’s 2030 Needs
The world of work seemed to change overnight and with it, the need for agile people leadership. Your company's workforce can be the secret weapon to gain a competitive advantage. However for that to happen, it requires the senior HR Executive to make decisions today to ensure your workforce is ready for the new world order.
Are you solely focused on today’s challenges or do you know what it takes to get your workforce prepared for your company's 2030 strategic objectives? Are you able to convince your C-Suite of what needs to be done now to set your company up for the future? If not, this is the session for you.

    Learning Objectives:

  • External world forces shaping the 2030 global workforce and the impact on your current employee base.
  • Using gap, SWOT and fishbone analyses to determine where your company and employee base is in terms of their 2030 readiness.
  • Leading the charge for embracing new technologies including AI and other agile systems to increase the employee and customer experience.

  • Second Speaker: Suzy Walch, Tips and Trends in Employee Benefit Plans: An Auditor Perspective
As we look forward to 2030, it's important to understand that processes related to benefit plan administration may need to shift as the responsiblities related to plan administration shift. During the session, we will discuss common compliance issues and offer best practices to help prevent those issues. We will also discuss what auditors expect related to documentation and support. Finally, we will cover some of the upcoming technical changes that you will encounter related to your defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

    Learning Objectives:
  • Recognize what benefit plan auditors need and expect during the audit, including the importance of documentation and support related to internal control processes.
  • Become aware of common compliance issues and understand Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor focus areas.
  • Recognize accounting, auditing, and disclosure considerations for future years.
