    Mental Health First Aid from National Council for Mental Wellbeing

    Join NAMI Wood County for Adult Mental Health First Aid, a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses & substance use disorders. Through certification by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, this training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. *Space is limited to 30 participants.

    September Meeting: Building Cultural Competencies within your Organization

    Speaker: Nadia Lewis, SHRM-CP, Vice President for Human Resources and the Center for InterculTUral Excellence at Tiffin University.

    Culturally intelligent leaders are inclusive, curious, and challenge the status quo. Their teams work and relate effectively across various cultural contexts, including nationality, ethnicity, gender, generations, and cognitive diversity. We can create an open dialogue of empathy and positivity by celebrating our differences! Workshop participants will develop the critical skill of cultural intelligence using the CIE Assessment framework. This workshop draws upon research-based findings to provide strategies for disrupting bias in organizations. The workshop is designed to help individuals strengthen their awareness and understanding about diversity and inclusion through the lens of cultural intelligence, as well as, enable them to have the ability to work more effectively with people who are different from themselves.
